It is an ancient institution founded at the beginning of the 18th century by Dom Rodrigo de Moura Teles to install “sinful women converted to God” and was inaugurated on April 25, 1722.

The Casa das Convertidas is a Baroque style building with whitewashed stone masonry walls, granite stonework on the corners, cornices, pinnacles, pediments, and the coat of arms of D. Rodrigo is an emblem of recollection.
