The Interior of the Sameiro Crypt
The interior of the Crypt of Sameiro is a large space where we can find tiles alluding to the Mysteries of the Rosary (Joyful, Sorrowful, Luminous and Glorious Mysteries) and themes of discovery.
On the left side of the Crypt we see a sign that says it is the Confessional and it is a small, closed place consisting of a chair for the priest and next to it a bench for the penitent and has very interesting traditional features.
In 2006, the “Salve Regina” panel was found in the Main Altar of the Crypt of the Sanctuary, which was designed by the Braga artist and painter Oscar Casares (Braga, December 8, 1977).
This Panel occupies the part behind the altar of the Crypt and is a work where the Immaculate Conception is surrounded by key figures in the history of the Sanctuary.
On the Main Altar on the right side we find the image of Our Lady of Sameiro and on the left side the image of a wooden Crucifix with Jesus Christ.
At the far left side we can find a Museum that houses relics relating to the Sanctuary: pictures, paintings, crucifixes, images of Saints, and other objects donated by devotees to this Sanctuary.
