Largo do Pelicano or Terreiro de Moisés, Bom Jesus do Monte, in Braga
 
In Largo do Pelicano, and going up the stairs on the left side, you will find the equestrian statue of São Longuinho, which is located on a pedestal.

Saint Longuinho was a martyr from the 1st century, Roman centurion, commander of the soldiers who took Christ to Calvary, converted after the Passion, and suffered martyrdom in Caesarea.

Saint Longuinho was one of the soldiers present at the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, and who ended up converting and later becoming a saint.

This monument represents a soldier armed with a spear, morion and shield, riding a corpulent rider that was sculpted by master José Luís and is one of the first equestrian statues in Portugal.
