Monument evocative of the Visit of John Paul II
Dating from 1987, the monument “Totus Tuus”, which translated from Latin means “totally yours”, designed by sculptor Zulmiro de Carvalho and architect Domingos Tavares, evokes the Pope's visit to Braga in May 1982.
The monument consists of three triangular-shaped stone and granite obelisks that surround a type of cauldron located right in the center of the monument, evoking Marian devotion.
