Avenida João Paulo II, in Braga

Parque da Rodovia is on Avenida João Paulo II, in Braga, northern Portugal.

On August 24, the Rodovia Sports Park was reopened after renovation and expansion that increased the park's area by almost 50%. The renovated Rodovia Sports Park is an invitation for people from Braga to leave home, enjoy nature, spend time with family and friends, and use the equipment and infrastructure available in the park, adopting more active and healthy lifestyles.

Having existed for decades, the Rodovia Sports Park lacked some features that have now been supplied. New fields were created for volleyball, beach soccer and basketball, and existing football fields were renovated. In addition, there are eight new changing rooms available to athletes traveling to the Rodovia Sports Park, with the old ones also being improved.

The new equipment includes a children's playground, a geriatric park, a street workout park, new pedestrian and cycle crossings over the Este River, a climbing wall, a skate park, a 1000m physical maintenance circuit and small auditoriums spread along the riverside area for small music or theater events. Benches were also installed next to the football and beach football fields, allowing the public to better enjoy the games.

With this update to the Highway Sports Park, the Este River Cycle Pedestrian Path has become richer and more enjoyable for physical and leisure activities, serving the population of Braga. There is a natural interconnection between the two spaces, enhanced by the new crossings over the East River, making the park more harmonious and substantially improving the public experience.

The Braga City Highway Sports Park is open every day, and presents a multifaceted and modern space, accessible to the entire population.
