The Treasury-Museum of the Cathedral of Braga is located in the historic center of the city of Braga, inserted in the monumental complex of the Cathedral of Braga, Rua D. Paio Mendes, parish of Sé, city of Braga, northern Portugal.

The Treasury-Museum of the Cathedral of Braga is located in the old Casa do Cabido, an 18th century building where its collection consists of pieces of sacred art of inestimable value collected over a thousand years of Christian life energized from the Cathedral.

The Treasury-Museum of the Cathedral of Braga was founded in 1930, and is also a place full of history where remarkable treasures are kept.

In this building we can see some of the most relevant pieces: the Paleo-Christian tomb (5th-6th century), the ivory chest (1004-1008), the chalice and paten of S. Geraldo (11th century), the miter and gloves of Archbishop D. Gonçalo Pereira (1326-1348), the sculpture of the Virgin of the Milk (1515), and the portable organ (1685) attract the attention of all visitors.

Some will be authentic discoveries, such as the liturgical shoes of Archbishop D. Rodrigo de Moura Teles (1704-1728), the asterisk considered a very original piece with a practical function, not allowing the consecrated host to fly away.
The Renovations of the Treasury-Museum of the Cathedral of Braga
 
The building's expansion and renovation works opened to the public on March 30, 2007.

This building is made up of several rooms that display various pieces of sacred art of inestimable value: coffers, chalices, mitres, organs, sculptures, Archbishops' robes such as cloaks, cassocks, cassocks, the pilgrimage, fringed fascia, the skullcap, the cap.

In the first nucleus we can see pieces that talk about the life of Jesus Christ: Annunciation, Nativity, Childhood, Passion and Death and Glorious Mysteries.

The second nucleus contains pieces that, through the hands of some archbishops, tell us the most significant moments in the History of the Church in Braga.

In this building we can also see goldsmithing and vestments rooms where we can find a valuable set of objects linked to worship that speak of the celebratory life of a believing people.

In the vestments we can see objects such as: crosses or crucifixes in copper, silver and gold, silver chalices with paten, censer with navette, candles, flags with figures of religious Saints, adorned monstrances, wooden corbel replicas, vases, metal swords, velvet valances.

In the goldsmith's room we can see objects such as: silver religious medals, gold-plated holy family, necklaces, silver threads, bishop rings with precious stones.
